I decided to stop living in the constraints of “normal society” and create the life I truly want. I had found myself going from one client contract to another, using 10% of my skills to fulfill others’ goals, out of work in between, and living in [...]]]> I made a decision in 2005, a major decision. I decided to stop living in the constraints of “normal society” and create the life I truly want. I had found myself going from one client contract to another, using 10% of my skills to fulfill others’ goals, out of work in between, and living in a central location that wasn’t where I wanted to live at all. And I had very little time to spend with my kid. It felt like going nowhere; it was a treadmill that doesn’t build a future.

I wanted to really enjoy my day-to-day life, but also build a future lifestyle that would work for decades into the future. I could never see “retiring” – I want to always have work that is as much fun as it is work! But I also want it to provide steady income.

So I made several key decisions:

1. To build several online businesses of my own, thereby providing semi-passive steady income for many years to come. And have lots of fun in the process.

2. To take charge of my investments and get properly educated in finances and retirement planning.

3. To move to a home that I would really enjoy living in.

4. To build and get involved with genuine communities.

And I can say I have now done that. Nope, I haven’t reached all my goals, but I am truly moving on a new path for each one of those 4 decisions. I can see unlimited opportunity for each.
